General thoughts about everything

Some shots with Mamiya RB67

I’ve been browsing some old photos I’ve shot with my (former) Mamiya RB67. I’m so sorry to have sold this wonderful camera. I’ve been owned it for only 6 months and haven’t shot many films, but it was a real pleasure to shoot with. Yes, it was very heavy, but extremely well built and the optics were amazingly sharp and with pleasant bokeh. I used to have two Mamiya Sekor lenses – the 90/3.8 and the 180/4.5 and both performed very well.

I love the way film photos look, especially the BW photos. If I want to shoot in color, the choice is always my Nikon – better than film.

I just want to share some portraits shot with the Mamiya. I’ll try to call to mind and write under every photo what film and optics were used.

All film negatives were scanned on Epson V700 flatbed scanner.

I have played today with a photo that I’ve submitted to the PHOTO magazine annual contest, and here is the result:

By the way, the voting for the PHOTO contest is now open. At this time the voting system has errors and does not function properly, but I hope they will fix it soon.

The contest is located here: http://concours.photo.fr/2010/galerie/

You can find my photos making a search for “ecobo” – the nickname I’m using in photography related websites.
